About Your Surgeon:
Yes, I am a horse girl! Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, I was immersed in equestrian life at a very young age. As the youngest of three, we didn’t have the means to purchase a horse so I leased and catch rode through high school, medical school and residency. Over time, I developed the reputation as the go-to recovery rider for a large eventing stable. There, I learned the nuances of the equine musculoskeletal system at a time when I was immersed in the anatomy lab in medical school.
Orthopaedic surgery is considered to be the practice of anatomy. My fascination with form and function caught the eye of two of the founding fathers of hand and microsurgery: Drs. Robert Acland and Harold Kleinert. I realized I was in a unique position to learn from these two masters of hand surgery and took advantage of every opportunity. I worked with them during my Orthopaedic Surgical training at the prestigious Christine Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery.
As a surgeon, you are only as good as your training & experience. After spending six years in Louisville, it was time to expand my exposure which took me to both Zurich, Switzerland for a traveling shoulder reconstruction fellowship and Orange County, California for additional extensive training in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery.
I practiced in Atlanta, Georgia for over 10 years when an opportunity was presented to me in Palm Beach County, Florida, I jumped at the chance to combine my two great loves: hand surgery and horses!
I appreciate your trust in me to provide you with excellent outcomes using the latest technology all while caring for you like family. We are looking forward to your visit with us!
